GL11 is a community hub, based in Gloucestershire, UK. Their mission is to support all local residents to connect, develop and gain confidence and inspiration by providing a springboard for opportunities to create an economically and socially thriving local community.

GL11 initially contracted Sketchnotes UK to create a one-page summary of how they had responded to the Covid-19 pandemic. The sketchnote was shared with other organisations that were keen to understand how GL11 had mobilised so many volunteers, in such short space of time, to enable them to meet the needs of the community they serve.

The sketchnote proved popular as a simple and accessible way of explaining how they worked and the impact they were making. The charity started sharing the sketchnote with potential funders and saw an increase in their success rates with grant applications.

GL11 then went on to hire Sketchnotes UK to design and illustrate their entire Annual Reports for 2020/21 and 2021/22. You can download the latest copy from their website. They are seeing similar benefits when they share this report with funders.
